Jesper Praestensgaard
Member of the Executive Board of Hapag-Lloyd AG
Jesper Praestensgaard was born in Denmark on 18 January 1964. After an apprenticeship, from 1988 he worked for more than two decades for Maersk, primarily in the sales and marketing fields.
From 1992 Jesper Praestensgaard filled various top management posts in Asia and Europe. Most recently, as Group Senior Vice President and Chief Executive of Maersk Line in Singapore he was responsible for business in Region Asia Pacific.
In parallel, he attended several marketing, finance and executive development programs in the USA at the University of Michigan and Penn State University and also at the IMD (International Institute for Management Development) in Switzerland.
Jesper Praestensgaard also gained an MBA at this Lausanne-based business school . Since 1 January 2011 he has been responsible for the Global Markets/Global Accounts and Sales areas as a member of the Executive Board of Hapag-Lloyd AG.
