Our Environmental Objectives
Our overall goal is to conserve natural resources, develop environmental awareness and ensure high quality services as well as safe operations. Therefore the following objectives are essential for us:

- Minimise impact on maritime flora and fauna
- Reduction of greenhouse gas and other emissions along the transport chain
- Lower vessel fuel consumption

- Reduced speed for cleaner operations: Slow Steaming and Derating
Our Shore-based Contributions
- Optimised turn times and utilisation of capacity and equipment to lower fuel consumption
- To and from seaports: Priority for environmental friendlier modes of transport
- Environmental requirements for subcontractors
- Promotion of E-Solutions such as E-Business, E-Learning and E-Meeting to ensure high quality and reduce business travel
- Worldwide ongoing staff trainings on environmental and safety issues
- Reduction of energy and paper consumption

- First Liner Shipping Company worldwide awarded with the “GL Excellence – 5 Stars” Certificate for superior standards in safety, quality, environmental behaviour, occupational health and safety, reliability and social responsibility
- Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) for our vessel "Vienna Express" - the first ship in the world to receive it
- Environmental Passports for all new ships since 1997 for highest environmental standards
