Service enhancement between Australia and North East Asia

Hapag-Lloyd announces service enhancement effective February 2010

With effect from February 2010, Hapag-Lloyd together with the AAS group will enter into cooperation with Maersk combining the current services into a comprehensive two-loop service on the North East Asia / Australia corridor.

The AAS group will operate the Southern Loop (AAS) with 5 vessels of 3,000 TEU serving the following ports:

Kaohsiung – Chiwan – Hong Kong – Melbourne – Sydney – Brisbane –Kaohsiung

Maersk will operate the Northern Loop (AAN) as part of their Boomerang service with 6 vessels of 3,800 TEU serving the following ports:

Yokohama – Osaka – Pusan – Qingdao – Shanghai (Waigaoqiao) – Shanghai (Yangshan) – Ningbo – Sydney – Melbourne – Brisbane – Yokohama

With this cooperation, both groups will exchange space on their respective service thereby offering wider scopes of coverage and shorter transit times.
