SAX adds port calls at Coega (Ngqura) and Rotterdam

Hapag-Lloyd announces service changes for the South Africa Express

As already announced on November 10, 2009 it was decided to call the brand new Coega (Ngqura) Container Terminal (NCT) on the southbound voyage of the South Africa Express (SAX). After a positive completion of the testing phase, the state-of-the-art Coega (Ngqura) Container Terminal (NCT), which is located 14 km north-east of Port Elizabeth, will be called on a permanent basis in both directions with immediate effect.

In Europe a call at Rotterdam will be added to the rotation of the South Africa Express (SAX). Hapag-Lloyd will offer a direct link to the Dutch port as from

The same vessel will also offer the first outbound sailing to South Africa from Rotterdam. The new itinerary of the SAX reads as follows:

Felixstowe • Rotterdam • Hamburg • Antwerp • Le Havre • Cape Town • Coega (Ngqura) • Durban • Coega (Ngqura) • Cape Town • Felixstowe
