Japan – Implementation of Equipment Maintenance Fee (EMF)

Hapag-Lloyd will implement an Equipment Maintenance Fee effective March 1, 2013.

We would like to inform you that with effect from March 1, 2013 Hapag-Lloyd will implement an Equipment Maintenance Fee (EMF) applicable for all shipments to Japan as follows:

  • Import

This charge will be implemented to cover cost increases related to the routine equipment maintenance. The Equipment Maintenance Fee does not cover any repair and cleaning arrangements if and as required.
