Implementation of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) and General Rate Increase – Far East Westbound

Hapag-Lloyd will increase the rates and implement a Peak Season Surcharge.

We would like to inform you that in order to continue to provide you with sustainable services in the Far East trade, rate increases are necessary.

Effective June 10, 2013 to August 31, 2013 Hapag-Lloyd will implement a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) from East Asia (excl. Japan) to the Mediterranean of:

  • USD 650 per TEU

Effective July 1, 2013 Hapag-Lloyd will increase the rates on the Far East Westbound trade by:

  • USD 1000 per TEU

Applicable for all shipments from East Asia (excluding Japan) to all North Europe and Mediterranean (excluding South and West Africa) destinations.

Effective August 1, 2013 to September 30, 2013 Hapag-Lloyd will implement a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) from East Asia (excl. Japan) to the North Continent of:

  • USD 500 per TEU

East Asia comprises Japan, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China (PRC), Macao, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brunei, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea and Russian Pacific Ports of Vladivostok and Vostochny.

North Europe comprises North West Continent, the U.K., Scandinavia, Baltic and European ports of Russia.

Mediterranean comprises the West Mediterranean, East Mediterranean, Black Sea and North Africa.
