General Rate Increase – Trans-Pacific Trade Eastbound

Hapag-Lloyd will increase rates effective December 2013 and January 2014.

We would like to inform you that Hapag-Lloyd has decided to implement the following General Rate Increases (GRI’s) for all dry, reefer, non operative reefer, flat rack and open-top containers from East Asia to all USA and Canada destinations, as set out below:

Effective: December 20, 2013 (date of cargo receipt at origin)

Scope: East Asia to USA and Canada

  • To U.S. West Coast port locations, Vancouver and British Columbia Province:
  • To U.S. East Coast port locations and U.S. IPI and RIPI locations, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax all-water and all other Canada Inlands:

USD 160 per 20' standard container
USD 200 per 40' standard container
USD 225 per 40' high-cube container
USD 253 per 45' container

In addition Hapag-Lloyd will implement the following General Rate Increase:

Effective: January 15, 2014 (date of cargo receipt at origin)

Scope: East Asia to USA and Canada

  • To U.S. West Coast port locations, Vancouver and British Columbia Province:
  • To U.S. East Coast port locations and U.S. IPI and RIPI locations, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax all-water and all other Canada Inlands:

USD 240 per 20' standard container
USD 300 per 40' standard container
USD 338 per 40' high-cube container
USD 380 per 45' container

East Asia is defined as being the countries of Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China (PRC), Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, The Philippines and Russian Pacific Coast Provinces.

The previously announced GRI for Canadian destinations, effective December 1, 2013 has been postponed to December 20, 2013 in line with above announcement.
