Terms and Conditions of the use of the Website of Hapag-Lloyd Aktiengesellschaft and its Group Companies.

1. General use

The use and calling up of the Hapag-Lloyd website is subject to the following terms and conditions. Hapag-Lloyd does not recognize any conflicting conditions, unless other terms are expressly agreed on in writing.

2. Copyright

All rights relating to the design and contents of this website always remain with Hapag-Lloyd. Copying and downloading the website or parts of it is permitted for private use by the user only in so far as we do not request the user to act differently (for example, download specific forms or information). In any case copying or other usage for commercial purposes, particularly passing on for payment, is not permitted.

3. Links

Where we refer via links or hyperlinks to other websites or web pages, we assume no liability or responsibility for the privacy practices or the content of these pages. The references are made solely for non-binding information or advertising purposes.

4. Concluding contracts

In so far Hapag-Lloyd enables the user to conclude contracts with Hapag-Lloyd via the Hapag-Lloyd website, the specific terms and conditions of business of Hapag-Lloyd exclusively apply for these contracts. These can be called up via our own link or requested from Hapag-Lloyd Aktiengesellschaft, Ballindamm 25, D-20095 Hamburg. If Hapag-Lloyd transfers data to the user, this data is to be checked immediately. In the event of transmission errors Hapag-Lloyd is entitled to contest the relevant declarations.

Hapag-Lloyd's data transmission is constantly inspected for computer viruses. However, it cannot be ruled out that via this data transmission software of the user is damaged by viruses in so far as the user has not taken any relevant counter-measures. Receipt and storage of data sent by Hapag-Lloyd at the user's request is thus effected only at the user's risk. In particular, Hapag-Lloyd assumes no liability whatsoever for data for which the user has omitted to make back-up copies at regular intervals (at least once daily).

5. No liability assumed for erroneous information

Even if we assume that the information and contents provided by us are accurate, errors or inaccuracies may still occur. Hapag-Lloyd is not liable for the correctness of the information and contents of the website of Hapag-Lloyd or any consequences arising from the use of the information and contents. This information and contents is provided solely for advertising purposes and is not binding. No warranty, whether express or tacit, is provided. Another condition applies only if Hapag-Lloyd and the customer have expressly agreed on something else or Hapag-Lloyd intends to vouch for the correctness of the information in an identifiable way.

6. Access to pages protected by a password or otherwise protected

Access to and use of pages of this website protected by a password or otherwise protected is permitted only to authorized persons.

You are responsible for maintaining password secrecy.  Do not share your password with any other person. Change your password regularly to minimize the possibility of unauthorized access to your account.

7. Applicable law/venue

Exclusively German law applies for the use of the Hapag-Lloyd website. The venue for all disputes arising out of the use of the website, is, provided that the customer is a merchant, Hamburg, Germany.
