Hapag-Lloyd informs about changed requirements regarding imports of perishable cargo into the Lebanese territory effective March 10, 2010.
We would like to inform you about changed requirements regarding imports of perishable cargo into Lebanese territory.
According to a decree (no. 1/61 dated February 5, 2010) issued by the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture consignees will have to present a graph that indicates the reefer temperature throughout the entire period of transportation.
This new procedure, which will become effective as of March 10, 2010, implies the installation inside each reefer container of automatic temperature recorders (Thermographs) at care of shipper / cargo owners.
In case such recorders are not installed, the data download from the container itself will be also accepted. Hapag-Lloyd's local agent in Lebanon may arrange the data download via authorized technicians and make it available to the consignee. For this service we will charge USD 175 for each download to the receiver.
