Hapag-Lloyd informs about the situation after a disastrous earthquake
After the earthquake in Chile we would like to inform you about the situation in the Chilean ports and the operations of Hapag-Lloyd Chile Agencia Martima Limitada.
Antofagasta / Arica / Iquique
Operating without restrictions
Port of Valparaiso
- Operations restarted yesterday evening. No restrictions including Zeal and our Container Depots in Central Chile.
- Road 68 did not suffer damages and is available.
- Vessel Bahia Blanca working right now at the terminal and vessel Rio Valiente programmed for tomorrow mid day.
Port of San Vicente
- Operations suspended completely until further notice, same as the container depots in the 8th Region.
- Once we do have additional information we will inform you accordingly.
- Import
Due to the current situation in the Area of Talcahuano / San Vicente /
Lirquen and the 8th Region in general, all import cargo with San Vicente as
discharge port, will be discharged and delivered to our customers at the safest
and closest port to San Vicente , which is Valparaiso.
All respective import documentation will need to be performed at Valparaiso.
Cargo will need to be picked up within the normal free times of the Terminal and the Carrier. - Export
All export cargo can be shipped via the Port of Valparaiso at risks and
expense of the cargo. Hapag-Lloyd will not offer any Inland Transport until the
situation has returned back to normal. For your exports from the Southern
Regions, empty equipment can be picked up from our Depots at Santiago or
Valparaiso.
