Europe – Implementation of Equipment Inspection Fee

Hapag-Lloyd will implement an Equipment Inspection Fee with effect on or after February 15, 2011
As we are faced with increasing operational costs regarding the physical inspection of containers, we will implement an Equipment Inspection Fee as stated below.
This charge will be applicable for all container types and sizes which are returned empty to a depot or terminal located in below mentioned countries on or after February 15, 2011.
Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Ireland, France and Poland:
Equipment Inspection Fee of EUR 7 per container
United Kingdom:
Equipment Inspection Fee of GBP 6 per container
Switzerland:
Equipment Inspection Fee of CHF 10 per container
This charge will be payable on collect basis.
Please note that any necessary cleaning and/or repair costs wherever applicable will be charged in addition to the Equipment Inspection Fee.
