06 Oct 2006 Hapag-Lloyd expanding service to West Africa
The Hamburg-based shipping line Hapag-Lloyd is increasing its involvement with West Africa. It is establishing its own service linking Dakar and Tema in West Africa and Hamburg, Amsterdam and Southampton in Europe at the end of the year.

The member lines of the Grand Alliance (GA) in the Transpacific trade - Hapag-Lloyd, Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), and The New World Alliance (TNWA) - APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd (MOL) - are pleased to announce that from August 2006 they will commence an Asia-United States East Coast service via the Panama Canal.

24 Jul 2006 New name for Hapag-Lloyd Container Line
The organisational consolidation of Hapag-Lloyd AG and Hapag-Lloyd Container Linie GmbH (HLCL) already realised in 2005 is now also being effected in formal legal terms in the context of the integration of CP Ships. Hapag-Lloyd AG and Hapag-Lloyd Container Line form a single unit and will operate in future under Hapag-Lloyd AG.

10 Jan 2006 Hapag-Lloyd Container Line: Expanded management and organisation
In line with its integration of CP Ships, Hapag-Lloyd is enlarging its globally standardised organisation from three to five regions. The management will also be expanded accordingly with the inclusion of CP Ships executives Juan Manuel Gonzalez, Glenn Hards and Alan Boylan.

The board of CP Ships Limited has appointed Adolf Adrion new CEO effective 1st January 2006 following the completion of the acquisition of CP Ships by Hapag-Lloyd at the end of 2005. The new CFO will be Ulrich Kranich, effective 1st February 2006.
