China - New Import Restrictions for waste metals
According to the China Customs Announcement No.68, Waste Steel, Waste Copper, Aluminum Scrap have been included in the Restriction Catalogue for imports to China with effect from July 1, 2019.
The following HS codes are affected:
According to the new restrictions, all listed waste cargo imports (subject to HS code) can still be accepted by China Customs based on the following conditions:
- Relevant Waste Cargo import permission (valid until estimated arrival in Chinese Port)
- Shipper’s Register Certificate (issued by Chinese Customs)
- Consignee’s Register Certificate (issued by Chinese Customs)
- Pre-loading Survey & Inspection Certificate
