China - New Handling Procedure for Yangze River Delta Area

We would like to inform you that with effect from 7th Jan 2021, Hapag-Lloyd will implement a new procedure for shipments export from and import to Chongqing, Luzhou, Wanzhou, Fuling and Yibing.

With this new procedure, the main change is that Hapag-Lloyd will perform the following tasks directly instead of through appointed feeder operators:

1. Accept booking directly from Customer*;
2. Assign feeder vessel at Hapag-Lloyd’s discretion;
3. Issue Bill of Lading(s) or release other relevant document directly to Customer* or through a Hapag-Lloyd appointed Administrative Agent; and
4. Collect freight and service charges directly from Customer*.

Please take note that Hapag-Lloyd does NOT appoint any booking agent in these locations. Hapag-Lloyd offers various booking channels and digital solutions, we encourage you book with Hapag-Lloyd directly.

For bookings from Chongqing, Luzhou, Wanzhou, Fuling and Yibing with Hapag-Lloyd from 7th Jan 2021, Customers* shall send their registration number as an additional information for transshipment manifesting, and the customer’s registration number we required are for Shipper, Consignee and Notify party with the timeline before 2 days after feeder vessel departure.
