Updates on the impact of COVID-19 in Latin America

Summary about current situation:

  • Argentina: under curfew from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM and restrictions to public transportation. Customers can use our Online Business to monitor customs references and documentation. Counter Opening hours:
    • Argentina from 10:00hs to 15:00hs
    • Uruguay 10:00hs -13:00hs and 14:00hs a 17:00hs
  • Mexico: Non-essential activities resumed last June 1st.
  • Colombia: Office remains closed. BL release for imports must follows this procedure. 
  • Peru: Quarantine from Jan 31st to Feb 14th. New phone number is available at + 511 700 7990. The e-mail system remains available at this link
  • Ecuador: mandatory curfew from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM remains for Quito while most of the country resumes activities.
  • Chile: Nationwide curfew from 10 pm to 5 am, exceptions for essential services incl. logistics. Lock down in Valparaiso and Viña del Mar during the weekends. More details available on Chile´s local page
  • Brazil: using a light system with recommendations to citizens. Counter office hours available at this link

Terminal Operations

  • ​Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala: Delays on cargo dispatch due curfew from 4:00pm - 4:00am

Railway Operations 

All services and ramps remains operational except Veracruz, MX with callings every 2 days

Truck and landing activities 

Cross border activities in Central America countries work with delays.
Cross border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua was closed until further notice.
Decrease of truck availability in MX, due to the increase of COVID cases.  

Barge Availability 

All feeders remains operational.

Depots  

Most depots operating as usual except Chile operating during working hours.

We encourage customers to use email as the primary method of contact with our Customer Service teams, we are monitoring emails and answering them as expeditiously as possible. For urgent escalations only, you can still use phone calls. However please note that we are experiencing high call volumes and longer than normal waiting times.

Our Online Business section allow you to track your shipment or container, get tariffs and quotations and buy additional freetime.

For faster BL release at destination, under the current COVID-19 conditions, we encourage customers to switch from OBL to SWB, if any assistance needed please reach out to your customer service documentation team.
