Together with its partners in THE Alliance, Hapag-Lloyd has made adjustments to its service network. As a result, more capacity will be available to our customers on the trade routes for which there is greater demand.
The expanded network, which will be launched this coming April, will enable Hapag-Lloyd to offer even higher frequencies, more competitive transit times and more comprehensive port coverage on several services. Subject to the approval of the regulatory authority, the East Coast Loop 6 (EC6) service will be launched in a completely new configuration. Via the EC6, Hapag-Lloyd will directly and seamlessly transport goods between the US Gulf Coast and the most important ports in Asia. To achieve even greater efficiency, the partners in THE Alliance will also be deploying larger ships on the most frequented routes. Making this possible has entailed several changes, such as merging the EC1 and the EC3 and henceforth deploying 13,500 TEU vessels in the combined service.
