Cargo Shield – Secure your cargo, protect your business
When cargo gets damaged during transport, the financial and emotional toll can be high. That’s where Cargo Shield comes in – a new value-added service that offers swift compensation and simplified claims handling in the event of physical damage. Now, for the first time, customers can book this convenient protection digitally through Quick Quotes, Quick Quote Spot and Post-Booking.
Cargo Shield is our new protection product for containerized cargo (Dry Containers only) that goes beyond traditional liability limits. It works similarly to a guarantee: If your cargo suffers physical damage during the journey, Cargo Shield offers fast, straightforward compensation* – up to the level of protection you select.
Cargo Shield can be added to your shipment directly through our Online Business Suite. With just a few clicks, you can include it during the Quotation or Post-booking journey.
Cargo Shield comes in three protection levels:
- Standard – protects up to $15,000 per container
- Plus – protects up to $30,000 per container
- Premium – protects up to $60,000 per container
Each option includes protection against common risks like breakage, water damage, fire, theft, mishandling, and more – all at a competitive flat rate and with a fast, fully digital claims process. For more details please visit our Terms & Conditions page here.
Unlike standard carrier liability, which can be limited by complex legal frameworks, Cargo Shield removes most exclusions from the Bill of Lading and Sea Waybill terms up to the Cargo Shield amount purchased. It also covers general average and salvage contributions, providing added assurance in unforeseen situations.
