The digital “Logbook” is here

Exciting news! Hapag-Lloyd has just launched its new magazine to a modern, digital platform. Anne Krege, Managing Editor, shares what the “Logbook” is all about and why its stories are well worth a read.

For more than 125 years, the “Logbook” has been a cornerstone of our corporate storytelling and one of the most traditional employee magazines in German history. Countless colleagues have contributed their voices, insights, creativity, and thousands of readers have followed along with interest.

Since 2017, it has also lived online, combining classic editorial craftsmanship with the digital age. Now, we are turning the page again with our new fully digital Logbook. With changing reading habits, the rise of digital media, and our commitment to sustainability, moving away from print to a fully digital format is the natural next step.

Hi Anne! What is Hapag-Lloyd’s “Logbook” all about? 

Our “Logbook” is an extended window to the fascinating world of Hapag-Lloyd. It contains background feature stories on relevant topics concerning our industry, in-depth interviews with our experts from around the globe and inspiring stories from our almost 17,100 colleagues across the world. 

What sets the digital version apart?  

Recently, we said goodbye to the paper version of our magazine after almost 125 years. There is always a touch of nostalgia, but every end also marks a new beginning: The name remains the same, but the format is fundamentally different.   

The guiding theme for the first issue – “New Horizons” – stands for fresh ideas, new technologies, and bold steps into the future. The new all-digital “Logbook” allows us to share stories from across the Hapag-Lloyd world more vividly through interactive formats, audio and videos – all available 24/7 on demand!

Sounds fantastic! What are your must-reads in the first edition? 

There’s truly something for everyone! Personally, I found Ijeoma Nwoke’s story and her unique route from Lagos, via Aberdeen to Hapag-Lloyd in Hamburg very inspiring. The audio interview with Pia Dabelstein and Luise Jacobs on quality and technology is also full of insights.  But don’t just take my word for it – have a look yourself and discover what resonates most with you!
