Israel – Security Manifest for FROB Cargo Update

Hapag-Lloyd informs about an update.

With regard to the announcement of new provisions applicable for FROB cargo (Foreign Cargo Remaining On Board) onboard vessels to Israel by Israeli Customs, we would like to inform you about the following update.

The enforcement date for the new rule has been postponed, thus submission of advanced cargo information to Israel will be mandatory as of October 8, 2013.

Furthermore, Customs Authorities in Israel have declared that the new provisions differentiate between Deep Sea and Short Sea services.

In order to fulfill the requirements the Israel Security Manifest will be transmitted at time of departure in each Port of Loading for all goods which remain on board the vessel when calling at an Israeli port.

At present following services offered by Hapag-Lloyd are calling at an Israeli port:

  • Europe – Asia Loop M (AEM / EUM) eb and wb
  • Zephyr Container Express (ZCX) eb
  • Alexandria Express (ALX) wb

Israeli Customs require that the six digit HS Code per cargo item is transmitted with the advanced security manifest data.

Please ensure to provide complete and correct shipping instructions no later than at time of documentation closing stipulated in the Hapag-Lloyd Booking Confirmation.
