Captain Peter Rößler reads from his new book

Pirates in the Straits of Malacca – Grounding in New York – Captive in Jeddah – The Stowaway: The new book by Captain Peter Rößler tells a large number of very different stories about his experiences at sea. He has been sailing the seven seas for many years, and has been a captain since 2004 – but his excitement about voyages and seafaring has never dimmed. Rößler is currently captain of the 10,500 TEU containership “Valparaíso Express.”

In his new book, “Luv und Lee in schwerer See” (“Windward & Leeward in Rough Seas”), the Hapag-Lloyd captain recounts 11 true stories – some adventurous, some funny and some sad – from the last 23 years.

He will share his experiences with us on April 19 in the Ballin House, where he will read from his book. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place in the context of “Supply Chain Day 2018,” being held this year for already the 11th time. Once a year, hundreds of logistics companies throughout Europe open their doors to allow visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the diverse array of logistical tasks and opportunities.

If interested in attending the event, please send us an email by April 17 with the phrase “Luv und Lee” in the subject line. You will receive a confirmation via email.
