The journey continues – Crocotainers on tour

The Crocotainers have reached their most recent calling point in Peru, and they are making quite an impression.

Hapag-Lloyds two Crocotainers have made their latest stopover in Peru. Our South American colleagues have even created a monument to welcome them: in Barranco, the heart of Lima, there is now a wall covered in colourful graffiti featuring the Hapag-Lloyd logo, the Hamburg Crocodiles mascot and graffiti-style jungle plants.

The two 20-foot containers were previously on board the “Cartagena Express” (11,519 TEU). The staff on board were visibly delighted to have such “prominent” containers in their care and captured the moment with a photo. With our real-time tracking tool, you can see exactly where the containers are at any time. The two are currently in different places. Container number HLBU 1830727 is with a customer, while its counterpart HLBU 1831106 is at the port in Callao, a South American port city in the Andean country of Peru. The Crocotainers will soon be on their way back to Europe, with the “Valencia Express” (2,268 TEU) set to take them to St. Petersburg via Rotterdam. They are expected to arrive at the end of July before continuing on their adventure…

The #crocotainer adventure continues. Anyone who sees them on their travels – in a port, on a ship, in a warehouse or on their way to a Hapag-Lloyd customer – is invited to take a photo and share it on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #crocotainer to publicise their adventure. This also gives people the opportunity to take part in the campaign with their own pictures. We look forward to receiving colourful photos from all over the world. And there’s another reason to join in: everyone who shares a picture with the #crocotainer hashtag will receive a little surprise in return.
