Malaysia – Scrap / Waste Import Regulation

We would like to inform you that with immediate effect Hapag-Lloyd will implement procedures of importing scrap and waste into Malaysia, to comply with local authority Regulation.

• Shipments without valid import permits are not allowed to discharge from the vessel at destination - Malaysia Terminals
• Shipper is requested to furnish below documents to the origin‘s booking office:
  
  • Import Permit of the consignee
    LOI from the shipper

Upon confirmation from the destination office, the cargo will be allowed to load at origin. This confirmation by destination is to assist shippers but does not ensure the cargo will be allowed for customs clearance as it is still subject to their final jurisdiction.
