We like to refer to our Customer letter of February 13, 2018 providing detailed information on the mandatory requirement of Goods and Tax Identification Number (GSTIN) of the Indian payer to be mentioned on the invoices.
We currently observe that various customers are still not providing the required GSTIN number at the time of Shipping Instruction (SI) submission at origin. This is impacting the timely issuance of invoices to Indian customers on cargo arrival.
In view of above, kindly note that effective January 1, 2019 we will no longer be in a position to accept your Shipping Instructions without Consignee’s and/or Notify GSTIN number, Importer / Exporter Code (whenever relevant) and complete contact details including email address & phone number of the Indian Customer.
We trust you appreciate this measure is necessary to comply with mandatory regulation & accordingly and we are looking forward to your kind cooperation.
