Mexico – Inland Status: Fuel Shortage

We would like to inform you that due to a plan of the Federal government of Mexico to combat fuel theft, there is a severe diesel and gasoline shortage in several locations. As a result some gas stations have long ques and even some stations are closed. Therefore, we are facing the following situation:

• Extended wait times in arrivals and departures of the trucks.
• Impact on the availability of trucks for local and long distance movements.
• Some Inland carriers are rejecting movements with final destination or origin in the affected areas (central and western part of the country).

This situation affects all customers and vendors equally and is beyond our control, therefore the Carrier will not absorb any extra (direct or indirect) costs resulting from this condition. Hapag-Lloyd will continue working to minimize the impact of this circumstance.
