India – New Service Fee: Booking No Show Fee

In order to meet your requirements as a reliable logistics partner, it is important for us to have a high degree of planning stability on our vessels to allocate space and equipment most efficiently.

With recent global economic developments and the related consequence of announced capacity adjustments, making this even more relevant.

Since there is a significant amount of cargo short fall close to the sailings of the planned vessels, it is negatively affecting our ability to meet your additional transport needs.
Our goal is to reduce the amount of shipment short fall shortly before the planned vessel departure so that we will be ready to offer more space availability for your cargo.

Therefore, we would like to inform you that Hapag-Lloyd India will implement a Booking No Show Fee for export bookings from Indian ports with effect from August 15, 2020 as per below details.

Application Rules:

  • Applicable for confirmed bookings where no equipment has been picked up within 7 calendar days to vessel departure.
  • Not applicable for bookings to North America destinations on our Transpacific Trade.
  • Not applicable for Hazardous bookings and bookings of Special Equipment including Refrigerated units.
  • BCF tariff will be 25 USD per standard container, any size.

We will notify those customers with confirmed bookings when the containers are not picked up and nearing the above timeline.

In case containers are still not picked up and no information received from the customer, the BCF will be invoiced as above and the booking will be cancelled.

We thank you for your partnership and trust in Hapag Lloyd and look forward to continue working closely with you.
