Terminal DP World Antwerp Gateway Q1700 – Cargo Opening 7 Calendar Day Rule

The ongoing and unchanged congestions and delays in most European ports are leading to persistent and extreme delays of ocean vessels at the DP World Antwerp Gateway terminal in Antwerp. This situation has a direct impact on the performance and yard utilization capacity.

With this letter, we have to inform you that DP World Antwerp Gateway is forced to implement a “7 calendar day cargo opening rule” for export containers. This means that Antwerp Gateway will not accept any export container more than 7 days prior vessels eta.

The cargo opening is the moment 7 calendar days before the Eta of a deep-sea vessel. This indicates the earliest delivery time for your export containers for any particular vessel. Since an eta is not fixed, the cargo opening will shift accordingly.

The cargo opening applies when you make your TAS appointment. If the eta slides back after this point, this will not affect the unloading at the terminal, on the condition that the TAS appointment made is not changed.

This rule is activated as of Monday March 1, 2021 until further notice.
