Bangladesh - Booking Restrictions to clear cargo backlog

High volume of cargo moving from Asia to Bangladesh combined with operational delays in Chittagong due to Ramadan and Eid Holidays have led to a backlog of cargo in Singapore. To clear the back log we are unfortunately forced to issue a booking restriction, with immediate effect, to Chittagong as follows:

1. From all East Asia and Australia origins for all types of cargo
2. From South America origins for refrigerated cargo only

We will keep you informed when the backlog has cleared and we are able to accept bookings again.

As alternative, we can offer a routing via Colombo for transshipment to Bangladesh. Please be advised however that in Colombo we are currently experiencing delays in transshipment with dwell times of approx. 20 days. These are expected to reduce to normal operation by the end of June and consequently we will only be able to offer this alternative for cargo arriving at the end of June in Colombo. To discuss further alternative routing options, please reach out to your local Hapag-Lloyd office.
