Shipping beef products from Brazil to China? There’s a reefer restriction in place

If you are shipping beef products from Brazil, please be advised that there are changes concerning reefer cargo acceptance.

The General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China has announced an import suspension of frozen beef products from Brazil. This regulation applies to shipments loaded from Brazil with Shipped on Board date September 4, 2021 and onwards, and it might have an impact on customs’ declarations for related inbound shipments.

Thinking about your cargo planning, we have outlined the following options for you:

  1. Divert your reefer containers to other port outside Mainland China; or,
  2. Return your reefer containers back to origin.
  3. In the event that no instructions are received from you, we will reserve the right to proceed with the necessary actions.

To allow us to initiate the necessary arrangements, please provide us with a written confirmation of your preferred choice for taking delivery of the cargo at your earliest convenience. Please note that for all options, all additional costs, risks and liabilities related to the storage or movement of the cargo after discharge will be for the account of the cargo owner.

We regret the inconvenience that these circumstances may cause. If you should have questions or require further information, please contact us at [email protected].
