COVID-19 preventive rules are coming up in Germany

The work towards preventing the spread of COVID-19 starts with less contact points. To increase your safety and that of those working in different stages of the supply chain, new processes continue to be introduced to reduce the number of contact points. Therefore, terminals in Germany are adhering to precautionary rules to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • Processes at terminals will be paperless to prevent drivers from leaving their vehicles while they are waiting.
  • AHA rules, for its German initials, will remain. This translates into distancing, handwashing, wearing a medical mask.

While we continue to comply with government policies to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we have requested all of our suppliers and subcontractors to follow regulations. The so-called 3G (standing for tested, vaccinated or cured for its German initials) or 2G (standing for vaccinated or cured, for its German initials), while aiming at providing safer environments can pose infrastructural challenges for transport companies, depots and terminals. This might translate into longer waiting times and possible delays in transport.

For instance, in addition to precautionary rules, some load or discharge premises might require vaccination or test certificates. Please note that although we have notified our suppliers and subcontractors about the rules, regulations and requirements, we are not liable for this missing documentation, and therefore, we will not cover any costs related to container storage caused by this situation.

We will continue to keep you updated on the developments, and please know that our customer service team at your location is ready to assist you in case you should have any queries.
