Here's what you need to know about the IMDG Code, 2024 Edition

If you are shipping Dangerous Goods, here's an important update for your cargo planning. The IMDG Code, 2024 Edition (Amendment 42-24), will come into effect on January 1, 2026. However, this may be applied voluntarily from January 1, 2025. This means that the IMDG Code, 2022 Edition (Amendment 41-22) will remain in force until December 31, 2025.

For your reference, this change means that shippers may select either IMDG Code Amendments for DG Classification between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025. The date reference for this change is set by the departure date at the first port of loading within the intended routing. Please keep in mind that these timelines may differ per country or shipping line.
