Rhine River: Additional Low Water Surcharge Levels Introduced

Due to the ongoing low water conditions on the Rhine River, revised low water surcharge levels will apply from November 1, 2026.

Surcharge levels for water levels below those listed in the tables are subject to individual agreement.

Please be reminded that the low water surcharge remains in place for import and export cargo until further notice.

Conditions may worsen to the point that barge transport becomes operationally unviable. If water levels reach or fall below 30cm at Emmerich, 180cm at Duisburg-Ruhrort, 105cm at Cologne, or 80cm at Kaub, transportation cannot be guaranteed.
