Saudi Arabia – Exemption to Dangerous Goods Permit at Jeddah

Please be informed that Jeddah Islamic Port Authority has issued a circular exempting containers with certain dangerous commodities from providing the custom approval / dangerous goods permit.

This permit was earlier required to discharge cargo at Jeddah Islamic Port, however, with immediate effect, the below listed commodities are now excluded from obtaining the dangerous goods permit and can be discharged as normal:

  • Paints
  • Batteries
  • Vehicles loaded with fuel
  • Air refreshers
  • Perfumes and Cosmetics
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Refrigerators, air conditioners, equipment that is provided with Freon Gas rube gas, batteries and fuel
  • Dangerous goods, which belong to government agencies

Kindly take note of above and ensure that the clearance documents are in place to avoid any complication at the time of custom clearance.
