Shipping from the South of Africa? A new booking window is coming into effect

We are committed to delivering the most reliable, accurate vessel outlook to you and are aiming at avoiding repeated booking adjustments. With this in mind, Hapag-Lloyd in the South of Africa will implement a booking window effective June 24, 2021, that will apply to all trades.

With this new booking window, we will be limiting our booking approvals to 21 days prior to vessel ETD (Estimated Time of Departure).

Here are a few details that we would like to highlight:

  • The calculation of the booking window is based on the bookings’ receipt date until vessel ETD from the respective feeder or mainliner voyage.
  • All bookings received as of the effective date (June 24, 2021) will follow the booking window logic.
  • Any bookings received as of the effective date that fall outside the 21-day booking window scope will be regretfully rejected.
  • The geographical scope for the South of Africa includes Djibouti, Kenya, Namibia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and South Africa.

Hapag-Lloyd understand that this is a significant change but are confident that this will ensure the best offering to our customers.
