Transpacific eastbound - Update IMO Transition Charge - East Asia to USA & Canada

Kindly note that we will adjust the IMO 2020 Transition Charge (ITC) amounts for the Trans-Pacific Trade eastbound from East Asia to USA and Canada, effective as from January 1, 2020 until further notice. (date of cargo receipt at origin)

Those revised ITC amounts will be likewise be shown in the ITC table update on our Trade Surcharges Overview as from January 2020.

Currently, until the end of December, 2019 the ITC applies as follows:

From ports of loading in East Asia to Destination ports of:

• North America (USA and Canada) West Coast : USD 130 per TEU
• North America (USA and Canada) East Coast : USD 130 per TEU

Revised ITC amounts applicable as from January 1, 2020:

From ports of loading in East Asia to Destination ports of:

• North America (USA and Canada) West Coast : USD 95 per TEU
• North America (USA and Canada) East Coast : USD 150 per TEU

East Asia is defined as being the countries/districts of Japan, Republic of Korea, China/Taiwan, China/Hong Kong, China (PRC), China/Macau, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, The Philippines and Russian Pacific Coast Provinces.
