Saudi Arabia – Revised Documentation and Container pick-up timelines

In view of the continuing high demand for containers around the globe and the consequent focus on improving the equipment utilization and turnaround time, Hapag-Lloyd Saudi Arabia is implementing a revised documentation and container pick up timeline for all locations across Saudi Arabia, effective June 10, 2021.

This revision is implemented to improve the empty container utilization turn time and ensure uninterrupted supply of empties to meet the demand of our valued customers in Saudi Arabia. We shall be revisiting the collection timelines if the overall equipment situation improves globally.

Accordingly, the established documentation cut-offs also revised in allowing you adequate time to submit shipping instruction, arrange manifest and cargo final clearance formalities ahead of the port and stevedores timelines currently in place.

With the above, we no longer require our valued customers to provide us “container pick-up / positioning date” while submitting your future bookings which was requested in our earlier Advisory dated March 3, 2021.

From June 10, 2021 onwards, our system will automatically capture a default container pickup-date of 10 days to the ETA of booked vessels.
