Indonesia: Mandatory Data for B/L and Manifest (Import/export)

Hapag-Lloyd will start to implement new requirements for manifest declaration from/to Indonesia starting May 30, 2018.
In the future, the following information must be provided to the carrier while submitting your shipping instruction for Indonesia Customs filing:

  1. TAX ID
    Similar to NPWP of the Shipper (for Export) and Consignee (for Import). In case of "To Order BL“, please advise TAX ID of Notify Party. Please use only the 15- digit numeric part of the TAX ID for the declaration, as seen in the following example: NPWP 01.001.680.6-010016806054000
  2. HS CODE
    A six-digit code distinguishing different types cargo to be mentioned under Description of Goods.
  3. House B/L (Only for NVOCC / Forwarders)
    It is mandatory to mention whether House B/L are issued by Shipper (for export) or by Consignee (for import). According to the regulation, NVOCCs themselves must fill the customs system directly.

In case these details are not provided, your cargo might be at risk of being held by Indonesia Customs. Hapag-Lloyd’s customers are themselves liable for any cost in case of any irregularities or insufficient customs data.
