Benin - Implementation of ECTN number (Electronic Cargo Tracking Note)

For import cargo arriving into Benin beginning September 1, 2019, ECTN (Electronic Cargo Tracking Note) will be a mandatory requirement.

The shipper is responsible to advise the ECTN reference to the shipping line during export formalities and to insert the ECTN on the shipping instruction.

Failure to indicate the ECTN number on the bill of lading will delay the import clearance process with local customs authorities.
