Denmark: Reminder on mandatory customs requirements for Shipping Instructions

General Europe Denmark

Following our previous communication regarding the new customs regulations at German ports, we would like to remind our customers in Denmark of the importance of submitting accurate and complete Shipping Instructions (SI).

To ensure smooth transshipment in German ports and avoid WKS-related delays with German Customs, please ensure that all Shipping Instructions contain the same cargo information as declared on the corresponding Movement Reference Number (MRN), particularly regarding the number of packages and weight.

What do you need to do?

Please follow these steps when submitting your Shipping Instructions:

  1. Check the MRN: Verify the number of packages and cargo weight declared on the corresponding MRN.
  2. Match the Shipping Instructions: Ensure that the number of packages and weight entered in your Shipping Instructions match the information declared on the MRN. You can submit your details through our Shipping Instructions online tool.
  3. Multiple MRNs: If your shipment is covered by more than one MRN, the party submitting the Shipping Instructions is responsible for clearly indicating how the cargo is divided between the different MRN references.

What does this mean for your cargo?

Any discrepancies between the Shipping Instructions and MRN declarations may result in customs holds and delays during transshipment at German ports.

To avoid potential disruptions to your cargo planning, please review your Shipping Instructions carefully and ensure that all required information is accurate before submission.

Should you have any questions or require further information, please contact our customer service team at your location, who will be happy to assist you based on your individual situation.
