As one of our growing markets, Africa’s ports and operational updates will assist your cargo planning with relevant service information. To the point and no additional fuss, the Africa operational updates are updated regularly on this page and will reach your inbox twice a month.

  • Niger: immediate booking stop. Shipments will be stopped at Cotonou, Benin.
  • Gabon: maritime, air, road borders are open.

Vessel updates and port changes per service

Middle East - India - Africa - Express (MIAX)

  • MV AS Cypria V2332E will leave the service in Jebel Ali, expected to arrive on October 25, 2023, and MV Dalian V2343W will be the replacement, expected to arrive on October 27, 2023.
  • MV Tema Express V2338W will omit Mundra, India. Imports were discharged in Jebel Ali, UAE, for further connection to their final port of destination.
Asia – West Africa Service (AWA)
 
  • There will be no sailing from Cape Town (westbound) on November 8, 2023, and from Walvis Bay, Namibia (eastbound) on November 16, 2023. All the vessels will adjust their schedules by 1 week.

East Africa Service 2 (EA2)

  • MV Hansa Europe V2340S will leave the service in Jebel Ali, UAE between October 11 – 12, and MV Yokohama Star V2340S will be the replacement, expected to arrive on the same dates.

Mediterranean – West Africa Express (MWX)

  • There will be no sailing from Cotonou, Benin (northbound) on October 3, 2023. All vessels will adjust their schedules by 1 week.

South Africa Express (SAF also known as SAX)

  • MV MOL Proficiency V234N will omit Cape Town, South Africa.

West Europe – West Africa Service (WWA)

  • There will be no sailing from Pointe Noire, Congo (northbound) on October 7, 2023.
  • MV Dallas Express V2337N will leave the service in Kribi, Cameroon.

West Africa Express (WAX)

  • MV Dachan Bay V2335N called Abidjan, Ivory Coast before Tema, Ghana.

South Africa – Asia Express 1 (SA1)

  • There will be no sailing from Durban, South Africa (eastbound) on November 5, 2023. All vessels will adjust their schedules by 1 week.

South Africa – Asia Express 2 (SA2)

  • No schedule updates for this week

South America - Africa - Triangle Service (SAT)

  • MV Niledutch Breda V 2332W will omit Pointe Noire, Congo.

East Africa Service 2 (EAS2)

  • No schedule updates for this week.

East Africa Service 3 (EAS3)

  • There will be no sailing from Mombasa, Kenya (eastbound) on November 2, 2023

East Africa Service 4 (EAS4)

  • There will be no sailing from Dar es Salaam (eastbound) on November 1, 2023

  • Port of Douala, Cameroon  - Douala: On average 2 days berth delay (congestion)
  • Port of Kribi, Cameroon  - Kribi Deepsea Port KCT: On average 1 day berth delay (low productivity)
  • Port of Libreville, Gabon  - Owendo Terminal Libreville: Up to 4 days delay (congestion)

  • Port of Cape Town, South Africa - Cape Town Container Terminal: On average 3 days berth delay (weather)

  • Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa - If you are placing bookings from countries located in the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa, online booking amendments will be implemented from August 15, 2022. We have transitioned to an all-digital booking amendment process, and with this step, all email and phone requests have been discontinued. This means that your booking amendments will be processed faster, and you will be able to manage them through our online tool available here. Thinking about your cargo planning, please know that once the amendment has been requested online, the processing time will be four (4) working hours. Please keep in mind that once you place your request, you will not have to send emails or make follow-up calls. 
  • Tanzania: From September 1, 2023, our booking cancellation timeline will be changing to 17 days
  • For customer inquiries, kindly use email as your primary channel
  • For vessel/container/booking status and sailing schedules information, please visit our Online Business Suite
  • For Dangerous Goods Cargo terminal gate acceptance, please submit electronic copies of the Export Hazardous Declarations to upload in the DG bookings
  • For faster BL release at destination, please switch from OBL to SWB if possible. If you should require any assistance, please reach out to your customer service documentation team
  • We invite our customers to use our e-tools (Web-Booking and EASI) for submitting bookings and Shipping Instructions as well as our Hapag-Lloyd Navigator Dashboard to view all of your shipment information on one single screen
