There’s a buzz on the high seas as Hapag-Lloyd celebrates a historic milestone: our fleet has surpassed the 300-ship mark! This achievement is a testament to the enduring commitment to growth and global connectivity. Let’s dive into the details of this record-breaking moment

The latest addition: Meet the “Nordatlantic”

The 300th jewel in our crown is the charter vessel “Nordatlantic,” delivered by Hamburg-based Reederei Nord in January 2025. Built at the renowned Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding yard in Guangzhou, China, the “Nordatlantic” officially joined the fleet on 10 January, 2025.

This state-of-the-art ship is no ordinary feeder. Designed for efficiency and reliability, the “Nordatlantic” is set to serve the bi-weekly Vietnam-Cambodia-China (VCS) feeder service, linking vibrant ports like Sihanoukville, Cai Mep, Haiphong, and Shekou in Shenzhen. This route is a crucial artery in our updated intra-Asia feeder network, which now boasts six additional loops to ensure even smoother connectivity.

The fleet keeps growing

Did you know, that in 2024 our fleet capacity grew by a remarkable 18.7%? And there's more to come: the “Nordatlantic” isn’t sailing solo for long. She’s part of a trio! Hapag-Lloyd has secured a package deal with Reederei Nord, bringing her sister ships “Nordbaltic” and “Nordpuma” into the fold soon. The “Nordbaltic,” still under construction, is slated to join the VCS service as well.
