This year, Hapag-Lloyd will once again be participating in Supply Chain Day. On 11 April, the world’s fifth-largest container shipping line will be inviting industry professionals, students and the interested public to visit the Ballin House (Ballindamm 25). At its historic headquarters building looking out on Hamburg’s Inner Alster Lake, Hapag-Lloyd will provide guests with information about the company as well as about current trends and challenges in the global container shipping industry.
The lecture “Container shipping – today and yesterday” will be delivered (in German) at 9 a.m. and again at 3 p.m. Registration is possible on the event website (www.tag-der-logistik.de/en). Participation is free of charge.
Now in its 12th year, Supply Chain Day is organised annually by the German Logistics Association (BVL) to allow companies from industry, trade and logistics to give the public a behind-the-scenes look at the diverse array of logistics tasks and related career opportunities. In addition, the event provides a forum for logistics institutes to present their research findings as well as for educational institutions to showcase their offerings. In 2018, approximately 35,000 people attended some 340 events on Supply Chain Day in 23 countries.
