To mark the 101st anniversary of the death of former Hapag Director-General Albert Ballin on Saturday, 9 November 2019, as well as the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, Hapag-Lloyd will be hosting a discussion round on “Hamburg at the Crossroads of Globalisation and Digitalisation”.
In the historic main building of the University of Hamburg, the company will have the honour to welcome five first mayors of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Together, they have more than 25 years of experience at the helm of the city and its political and social development.
Klaus von Dohnanyi, Ortwin Runde, Ole von Beust, Christoph Ahlhaus and Peter Tschentscher will discuss the current and future development of the city as well as further globalisation and increasing digitalisation. The moderator will be Matthias Iken, deputy editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt.
