Frequently Asked Questions

The amendment can be made using our BL Drafts solution after creating the first draft based on your submitted Shipping Instructions.  

You will see an on-screen confirmation with a summary of your submission, which can be saved or printed. The first draft of the B/L will then be created.

Both document types, original bills of lading (OBL) and non-negotiable sea waybills (SWB), can be handled through the BL Drafts product.

Different security settings are applied to a user login based on the responsibilities they control as parties to a shipment, service contract, and/or bill of lading. The documents you see in the Hapag-Lloyd BL Drafts solution are based on these settings.

You and your consignee* simply register on one of our partners’ platforms of your choice: IQAX, WaveBL, or Galileo. When submitting shipping instructions, please mention eBL and the platform name. Once the vessel has departed, you will receive your eBL on the mentioned platform. You can ask for any amendment by selecting “Surrender for amendment.” You can transfer the eBL to your consignee with the click of a button. The consignee can surrender directly to us.

You will no longer see the envelope in the interface, thus signifying that the eBL issuance was successful.
