Canada - Carbon Tax Surcharge for Canadian Rail Providers - Prince Rupert added

The Federal Government has issued an environmental requirement for all provinces to implement a Carbon Tax by 2018. In response to this requirement, Canadian Pacific Railway and Canadian National Railway have adjusted their tariffs for a Carbon Tax by province.

As Hapag-Lloyd will be invoiced this charge, we are forced to adjust our current Carbon Tax Surcharge to reflect these changes.

The Port of Prince Rupert surcharge will be effective March 27, 2018 and applies on import and export rail moves within Canada and across the border with the United States.

For the cross-border moves to and from the United States, the charges are listed below in US Dollars per container.
