Peak Season Surcharge – Trans Pacific Trade

We would like to inform you that Hapag-Lloyd will revise the implementation of PSS (Peak Season Surcharge) in the Trans Pacific eastbound trade from East Asia, Indian Subcontinent and Middle East to all USA and Canada destinations as follows:

China, China/Taiwan, China/Hong Kong and China/Macao to North America (USA and Canada) as of July 1, 2018 (date of cargo receipt at origin)

  • USD 55 per 20' standard container (20’ x 8'6")
  • USD 110 per 40' standard container (40’ x 8'6")
  • USD 110 per 40' high cube container (40’ x 9'6")
  • USD 110 per 45' container (45’ x 9'6")

East Asia, Indian Subcontinent and Middle East to North America (USA and Canada) as of August 1, 2018 (date of cargo receipt at origin)

  • USD 270 per 20' standard container (20’ x 8'6")
  • USD 300 per 40' standard container (40’ x 8'6")
  • USD 300 per 40' high cube container (40’ x 9'6")
  • USD 380 per 45' container (45’ x 9'6")

East Asia is defined as Japan, Republic of Korea, China/Taiwan, China/Hong Kong, Mainland China, China/Macau, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, The Philippines and Russian Pacific Coast Provinces.

Indian Subcontinent includes India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Middle East is defined as UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
