Hapag-Lloyd Strategy 2023

Following a period of consolidation, the liner shipping industry has changed significantly in recent years. Hapag-Lloyd has been a very active driver in this process, is stronger today and more than two times larger than it was in 2014 in terms of transport capacity. After having successfully integrated CSAV and UASC, we would like to share some details about our future plans and our new ‘Strategy 2023’ with you.

In recent years, our industry has not invested sufficiently in supply chain reliability and quality and it is obvious, that we need to change that. The coming years, you and your needs must and will be our number one priority. We will invest more in digitalisation and automation, which will give us the ability to continually improve the quality of our services. We will invest in our people to even better understand your needs and to deliver more value as well as an unrivalled level of reliability and quality to you.

We are very aware that these are ambitious goals and that this will be a multi-year journey. But no matter what challenges we might face along the way, our vision will remain clear: In the coming years, we will steadily work towards becoming your number one carrier for quality.

I would like to welcome you on board this exciting journey and encourage you to share your feedback with us – anytime, anywhere. If you are interested in additional information, please also take a look at our website.

Finally, we thank you very much for doing business with us and for your continued trust in our company and its services.

Kind regards,

Rolf Habben Jansen
CEO Hapag-Lloyd AG
