Further to our CustomerInfo of January 29, 2019 regarding the container fire on board MV “Yantian Express”, we now can report that she has berthed at Freeport, Bahamas on February 4, 2019.
Various parties will now be involved with evaluating the condition of the vessel and formulating the next steps for discharging your cargo. To ensure this is done in the safest possible manner, and with no impact to the environment, this evaluation process and preparation of the pier to receive damaged cargo can take several days and even up to a week or more to complete.
Once the above steps are finalized, we can determine the next steps both for cargo deemed to be damaged and undamaged, and we will inform you accordingly.
