We would like to inform you that with effect from June 1, 2019, Hapag-Lloyd will revise the Equipment Maintenance Fee (EMF) charge to cover all repair charges under USD 250 per container. Any repair charges exceeding USD 250 per container will be collected from customer separately with the actual exceeded amount. Based on the commodities, EMF will be separated into 2 groups as follows:
Group 1 applies for general cargo.
Group 2 applies for special cargo, such as: Wooden Plank, wooden sheet, Log, steel coil, steel plate, machinery, metal scrap, marble block, Leather, fluff pulp, Poultry meal, rough marble block, Oriented strand Board, hydrolysed Protein of Porcine, Porcine meat and bone meal, Marble slab. EMF is differentiated by HS code.
For detention under-collection and repair charges exceeding USD 250 per container, the ICDs
and Depots will collect this amount as deposit on behalf of Hapag-Lloyd Vietnam from
customers/truckers, and allow customers to proceed with “Gate in Empty”.
As customer concerned, you will need to settle to Hapag-Lloyd bank account as per normal practice, receive our invoices and then approach ICDs & Depot for refund of deposit.
This implementation is effective for all types of containers, except for reefer containers with
deposit still in place.
