I hope you, your family and your fellow colleagues are doing well.
First of all, let me thank you on behalf of all our 13,000 colleagues worldwide. Your support, your understanding and your loyalty during these challenging times have been extremely motivating to us. It encourages us to make the difference and do everything possible on our end to support your business and to make you successful.
In our most recent Customer Survey which came out last week you gave us generally good ratings, but you also pointed out a number of areas that we need to improve – and we will pick that up and implement additional measures, which you will notice soon.
Recently we have seen a pick-up in demand, and there are signs that some economies begin to recover. In the last 6-8 weeks we have therefore begun to add further capacity to the market and have expanded our service portfolio. We have re-instated many voyages, particularly on the Transpacific and the Far East – Europe trade. With some countries lifting lockdown measures, we have increased and will further increase the number of employees returning to the offices. Still, despite these rays of hope, it is far too early to speak about a return to business as usual. We are and we will uncompromisingly be committed to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and customers around the globe.
COVID-19 has forced us to rapidly change how we live and work. What has not changed is the basis of our relationship: mutual trust and a spirit of partnership. We are committed to deliver the highest levels of services, products and quality to keep your businesses and supply chains flowing. Recently we have launched our fourth quality promise “Loaded as Booked”, which will significantly strengthen your supply chain reliability and complements the other quality promises which we already released in January. If you want to learn more about our quality promises, please visit our Quality Promise Dashboard. We are looking forward to presenting you the remaining six quality promises, which will be released in the near future.
It has been very encouraging and eye opening for me to discuss your various challenges and needs during our last exchange. I am looking forward to continuing this dialogue - and would like to invite you to our next exchange. Meet me on August 24 at 9 AM CET or August 25 at 5 PM CET. It will be my pleasure to e-meet you. You can register by clicking here.
As times are uncertain, reliability is key. Be assured that you can always count on Hapag-Lloyd. We are here for you – and we will get through this together.
Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
