South America East Coast Service (SEC) - Service Status Update

We would like to update you on the current situation of our service vessels deployed in the South America East Coast Servcie (SEC) and the action plans associated with these events.

  • M/V MEHUIN: Brazilian health authority, as a safety measure, has requested to quarantine the vessel at least 14 days in Santos, due to a confirmed COVID-19 case on board. In order to keep schedule integrity, M/V MEHUIN 039 will need to omit Buenos Aires, Rio Grande and Itapoa calls.
  • M/V NORTHERN MAGNITUD: To cover the omission of M/V MEHUIN and to maintain a weekly itinerary, M/V NORTHERN MAGNITUD will swap position with M/V MEHUIN. In order to keep schedule integrity the vessel will need to omit Santos north bound, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador and Norfolk. 
  • M/V NORTHERN MAJESTIC: Suffered an engine failure at New York, US causing a high delay in her schedule. In order to keep schedule integrity, M/V Northern Majestic will need to omit Santos South bound, Buenos Aires and Rio Grande.

This notice is written without prejudice to the terms and conditions contained in the relevant underlying contracts of carriage as evidenced by Hapag-Lloyd AG’s standard Bill of Lading and/or Sea Waybill and the Hapag-Lloyd Tariff applicable thereto and/or any other applicable agreement governing the carriage of the subject cargo, as the case may be, all of which said terms and conditions continue to remain in full force and effect without any modification or waiver.
